Goodbye to Larry's

I have been a loyal Larry's market customer for years and while I have noticed my Larry's (Tukwila) seems to have lost a step lately, I was floored to learn that they would be going out of business.

I just returned from shopping and I have to tell you that my Larry's seems to have just given up. I needed some soy milk and was checking the date and was a little surprised to find out it expired Nov. 2005! So I looked some more and there was lots and lots of out of date soy and rice milk.

I checked the other items in my cart and found out the soy milk wasn't the only product that was expired. I had Diane's tortillas and when I went to put them back every other package on the shelf was expired. I had Some Tim's chips as well as some refrigerated Dole fruit juice, and I only had about six items in my cart.

I started looking at other products and found out it is a storewide problem, cheese, deli meat, even baby formula! What if someone gets sick? I left my cart right there in the aisle, never to return. Bye bye, Larry's, you were great once but no longer.

We have a nice little Thriftway in our neighborhood that I hadn't really tried before so I went there instead. It was a pleasant shopping experience, full shelves and fresh products.
