South Vietnamese community honors fallen vets

An outdoor memorial service was held at the Vietnamese Cultural Center Saturday, May 9.

The center is located just north of the South Delridge Home Depot. The Vietnamese American community gathers here annually, close to April 30, to remember American and South Vietnamese fallen soldiers. The Fall of Saigon occurred April 30, 1975.

South Vietnamese community honors fallen vets

There are somebody out here still remember those who sacrified their life for the freedom of Vietnam. Those services will be appreciated. You are doing a wonderful job, Mr Ly.

It is refreshing to read

It is refreshing to read something like this. These people that fought and died deserve to be remembered honorably. Also, the 2 million plus Cambodians who were systematically slaughtered by the communist left Chinese as a result of the Americans being politically forced to leave Vietnam deserve to be remembered.

Lets hope we really do learn from history and don't make the same mistake again.

Important to remember

It is important to remember those who have sacrificed and also the futility of war. All those that died in war should be remembered for their courage and commitment to a cause. The leaders of nations need to start getting smarter and work for the good of their people;not themselves.
