The Pierson's acknowledge that theirs is a niche business. "Our market is for the most part homeowners who are building custom homes, architect design homes, or not. A lot of times it's people remodeling, spending some money, upgrading their house. When they get to their entry way we give them a choice of putting a nice piece there," said Pierson.

The line includes oil rubbed metal and brushed aluminum finished buttons all with colored LED illumination. Some components are made overseas but all assembly is done right here in West Seattle making it an American made product.

The prices range from $30 to $80 putting them in the mid to high end range for designer products of this type. Spore is growing and getting more attention with the recent growth in home remodeling. They are getting some press "With Modern Home magazines now with blogs and everything we're getting attention from blogs like Apartment Therapy and tech blogs…people who like gadgets like our stuff a lot," Lily Pierson explained.
