"Breast Friends" come to Bridge Park Community
Author and three-time breast cancer survivor Becky Olson, co-founder of “Breast Friends,” spoke to 40 people at Bridge Park Retirement Community in High Point, Saturday, Jan. 30. She shared strategies to fight depression and to get out instead of hiding at home. A friend made her the cap, pictured, which she said gave her courage to get out more when she lost her hair. Breast Friends is a grant recipient of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She based her book on that cap, called "The Hat That Saved My Life."
