West Seattle Water Taxi heads to dry dock for maintenance

Vessel “Spirit of Kingston” will sub Sept. 17-22

If you take the Water Taxi you might be surprised to see a different vessel at the dock on Sept. 17. King County Metro has posted a notice about the Rachel Marie being put in dry dock for maintenance.

Their notice:
Passengers are being advised that the West Seattle water taxi, M/V Rachel Marie, will be dry docked for maintenance Friday Sept. 17 – Wednesday Sept 22. During her absence, the Spirit of Kingston will be used to shuttle passengers between Seacrest Dock and downtown Seattle.

The replacement vessel is about the same size as the current water taxi, so riders will not see any changes in their trip or schedule.
