I've been following the coverage of this case since Nov., 2007, so you'll have to forgive me for not believing ANYTHING said by Chris & Edda Mellas (or Curt Knox, for that matter).

All of the denials and games here are likely a means to prevent the lawyers of the Kercher family from collecting on their 33 million dollar judgment against Amanda Knox for the murder of their young daughter, Meredith (a suit that was launched in order to prevent Knox from using her crime to make $$$ on book/ movie deals).

I sincerely hope the lawyers for the Kerchers know their stuff and hunt down every last cent the Knox Clan grinds out of the crimes of their drug-addled, sociopathic daughter.

The real question is: Why has the West Seattle Herald decided to become the Knox Daily Tribune?

Surely not everyone in White Center thinks Knox is an innocent little angel.

Those claiming "firsties" in this comment thread have proved the point of this article. They have seized upon the latest rumor as an opportunity to hurl invective and invent even more rumors. Whether you believe Knox guilty or not, what point is there to attacking her family?

Do these anonymous trolls belong to Reverend Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church, by any chance?

Maybe because her family is repsnsible for many of the untruths reported about the case?
Maybe because Edda KNEW that Amanda had falsely accused Patrick; yet she did nor said anything for the entire two weeks he was imprisoned, in the process losing his business and savings?
Maybe because the family has NEVER offered one word of consolation to the Kerchers?
And finally maybe, just maybe they have become accustomed to "covering" for Amanda; in a sense they enabled her to live the life she led and do the things she did that ultimately led to this savage murder.

You're doing the job of a real newspaper- telling the story as the intricate bits and pieces come your way.The NY Times and Washington Post, two papers I've

The PMF clan hideously led by Peg Ganong has been lying about this case since Nov, 2007, so you'll have to forgive me for not believing ANYTHING they have to say on any matter, let along when they're talking about the Knox family.

The idea that the Knoxes are cashing in on the Lifetime movie is typical, based on zero facts, on stupidity, jealousy, spite, and meanness, with nary a fact. The Knox family has already said it has no connection with Lifetime. The reality is an imprisoned daughter, mortgaged homes and a long legal nightmare. Here, like usual, qualifiers such as "likely" actually mean: I don't have any facts at my resources but I'll just make up something nasty:

Art Shay - you worked as a 'free lance' for the NY Times and the Washington Post, but don't specify what your contribution to these newspapers was. Judging from the standard of your writing, your powers of reasoning, and your knowledge of serious journalism we can only assume you were working in the canteens. That or waste disposal.

The Knox clan is in on the $$$

They're trying to get around the 33 million dollar damage award that Amanda owes the Kercher Family in the wake of the Kercher's successful wrongful death suit.

The Kerchers launched the suit to prevent Amanda from profiting from her crime against their young daughter, Meredith.

My guess is the Knox's million dollar PR firm (Marriott) will receive the money from Lifetime.

Some of the $$$ will then go to Marriott (for services rendered) and some will be diverted in to charities/ defense funds for Amanda which can be accessed by the Knox's at their pleasure.

The Knox clan just can't seem to extract enough pain from the Kercher Family.

Looking at Amanda's parents, it's not exactly difficult to figure out why Amanda is a drug-addled, remorseless sociopath with no concern for anyone but herself.

They never fall far from the tree.

The tragedy befell a British girl by the name of Meredith Kercher.
If you are indeed a 'freelance' that doesn't say much for journalism.
And the other commenter is right, there are many ubiased news sources to go to for information about the case.
One doesn't have to rely on one source (one main source, that is) for information.

Rudy in on of his changing stories actually DID say that Amanda was there, that he overheard Meredith saying to her, We have to talk.

Then he clammed the h-l up; his lawyers realized that admitting he was there with amanda and her boyfriend would implicate him even more than if he shut up.

But there was something a lot harder than marijuana consumed that evening by the lovebirds.
