SLIDESHOW: 'Mini-Cheerleaders' entertained the crowd at WSHS game

On Saturday, June 9th, 45 kids ages 5 - 12 from over 10 different elementary schools attended cheer camp led by the WSHS cheerleaders.

The campers had a fun filled afternoon filled with, cheer fundamentals, basic stunt moves, cheer related arts and crafts and learned a new fun dance.

Last night, Friday September 21, the campers were invited to perform the dance and cheers they learned along side the WSHS cheerleaders during halftime of the football game at SWAC. The mini campers donned their "mini wildcat cheerleader" tee shirts, some spirit marks and face tattoos and wowed the crowd with their spirit and skill. Parents and fans enjoyed taking pictures and video of the fun event.

The mini wildcat cheerleaders left the field to a huge round of applause and cheers.

The WSHS cheerleaders will hold another camp on Saturday November 10th and the campers to that camp will be invited to cheer at a WSHS home basketball game. Watch for more details and registration form on or contact Beverly Corey at
