Evergreen (0-3)Wolverines hosted the Kennedy Catholic Lancers (1-1) at Highline stadium in Burien Friday night in a Seamount conference varsity football matchup. For Kennedy, ranked ninth in the Seattle Times 3A Football poll, this was their first conference matchup of the season, having lost to the #2 State Ranked 3A Mount Si and beating 4A Roosevelt 26-20 2 weeks ago.

Evergreen, one of the four 2-A teams in the conference, was coming off a 47-14 loss to 2A Lindbergh last week.

Despite Kennedy's standings, Evergreen came out swinging. Evergreen recovered a Kennedy fumble on their first drive, putting the Wolverines in good position. A pass from Ken Dang to Hakeen Trotter took the ball down to the Lancers 11 yard line. Knocking on the door to be first on the board, Evergreen turned it over with a fumble.

Kennedy took quick action. The Lancers Chandler Reed broke open a run 11 to the 35. Kennedy quickly followed up with a 44 yard pass from Conner Richardson to Drew Thompson, taking them to the 9 yard line. At 5:15 in the first quarter, Kennedy's Colin Cossette put them on the board with a TD run. Kennedy up 7-0

On Kennedy's next posession, they drove again with a 37 yard reception by Drew Thompson to the goal line. But Kennedy missed the easy TD by fumbling and Evergreen recovered. On Evergreen's first play, taking the snap from the end zone, Dang was sacked, resulting in a safety for Kennedy - Kennedy up 9-0.

Still in the first quarter, Kennedy scored again on a 20 yard pass to Matt Hisken. Kennedy up 16-0. Then, a fumble by Evergreen recovered by Kennedy on the Evergreen 30 yard line. Kennedy's Thompson ran it in for a touchdown, putting Kennedy up 23-0 after 1 quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, Evergreen picked up the pace, holding Kennedy at bay and driving to the 5 yard line where they went 4 and out. The Lancers' Richardson, starting deep in his own end of the field, threw a 35 yard reception to Cole Madison. With 21 seconds left in 2nd quarter. Richardson connected with Thompson again for a 70 yard touchdown pass. Kennedy was up 30-0 at the half.

In the 3rd Quarter, Kennedy kept at it. A 30 yd run by Antonio Wynter took them to the 2 yard line, and a quick TD followed with a run by Cossette for his second of the night. Kennedy was up 37-0 at 8:19 in the 3rd.

Kennedy capped off their scoring clinic after an interception by the ever present Drew Thompson, followed by a run by Luis Diaz, putting Kennedy up 44-0 with 3:53 left in the 3rd.

Evergreen refused to give up. In the 4th quarter, they broke open a long run to the Kennedy 47, then quickly followed with a 35 yard pass to Raven Veth. The Wolverines capped it off with a run by Iveni Ngauamo to put Evergreen on the board.
