Terri Glaberson, the Educational Director of West Seattle environmental awareness organization CoolMom is leaving her role.

Terri Glaberson bids farewell to CoolMom

Terri Glaberson, the Educational Director of CoolMom, the West Seattle environmental awareness organization has left and turned over her responsibilities to Sonja Nash. She's leaving she said for, "More time with family, first, and time to pursue some other passions."

She made the announcement in an emailed letter to the member and others and got numerous replies of gratitude and congratulations.

Here is Glaberson's letter:

Today is my last day with CoolMom. It has been almost 4 years, Wow! It seems like yesterday when I joined the West Seattle CoolMom group and began my role as ED of CoolMom. I sure have learned a great deal about climate change and thank you all for helping me along my journey.

I want to thank you for supporting CoolMom throughout these years and for helping me navigate the environmental community. I have enjoyed working with you and will miss you. I take away knowledge, inspiration, and compassion and wishing you all the same as you work on this paramount issue. As most of you know I have a daughter, she is the reason I began this work and is the most important thing to me on this planet! And, although I am saying goodbye to CoolMom, I know I will be back in some capacity to help you all work towards ensuring a healthy and safe planet for our children.

I truly have been blessed to be a part of this organization and am confident that the Board and new Program Director will keep growing and building the organization.

With that, I would like to introduce Sonja Nash, the new Program Director of CoolMom. Sonja Nash has a long history of organizing on behalf of the environment and is excited to join the CoolMom team. Welcome Sonja!

Thank you all and may we kick this climate change thing in the arse!

In the post on the CoolMom newsletter a little bit about Sonja Nash is included:

"Sonja has a long history of organizing on behalf of the environment. Her passion began in college and cemented into a life-long path in response to the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Since then, she has moved to Seattle, worked on environmental campaigns, and advocated as well as fundraised to fight for change. Since the birth of her son, Sonja has come to believe that climate change is the most important issue facing us. She finds CoolMom's practical approach to global climate change particularly powerful. She is excited to meet the people involved and work to expand the programs and impact of our organization."
