UPDATE: Frank Foozer, West Seattle Thriftway employee, passes away; Account set up, celebration of life announced

An account to help the family of Frank Foozer, who died following a heart related issue, has been set up for donations. West Seattle Thriftway shared this update:

"With a heavy heart we regret to inform our community of the sudden loss of a beloved friend and coworker, Frank Foozer. Frank passed away on September 25th and is survived by his wife and unborn child, and aa very large family. Frank was quick with a smile and had a warm heart, we loved him as did the community. He will be sorely missed.

Please Join Frank's family and friends in a Celebration of his life.

Monday, September 30th at 4 p.m.

A memorial account has been set up at the Chase branch within West Seattle Thriftway to help the family with memorial and medical expenses if you would like to contribute. Ask the teller about "Frank's Fund".

Frank Foozer, member of the West Seattle Thriftway meat department passed away yesterday after a heart related emergency. He was 30 years old.

Michele Grasso, who works at the store shared the news:

"Our Thriftway family suffered a tragic loss this evening. Our kind, funny, and always cheerful meat department member Frank passed away after a sudden heart related emergency. Frank was a bright spot and many loved him here and in the community. We will be setting up a memorial account at Chase (inside our store) for Frank's wife and unborn child to help with funeral expenses. In the next few days, if you would like to donate please stay tuned to our facebook page for more information. We regret having to post this, and it is even more sad that his child will never get to meet him. He was truly an amazing man."

The store is in the process of opening an account at Chase to help with medical and funeral expenses called Frank's Fund. They will accept any contributions in the meantime at the customer service desk.

West Seattle Thriftway is located at 4201 SW Morgan St. in West Seattle.
