Moms at Me Kwa Mooks making the effort; Fit4Mom helps ladies get and stay fit

When the weather gets good around here people flock to the beach. We live on a peninsula after all and in keeping with our reputation for fitness and health a group of West Seattle mom's made their way down to Me Kwa Mooks on Beach Drive SW to exercise . They are part of FIT4MOM the country's largest fitness program for mothers offering pre and post natal fitness classes for every stage in motherhood.

They were in a Body Back class a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) that is combined with nutrition, accountability and community. FIT4MOM offers about 25 of these classes a week along with four drop in classes Friday through Sunday. Meghan Tavelli, Stroller Strides and Fit4Baby Manager said, "You see a transformation not only in body but in their mentality as well. We also have Stroller Strides, M-F 9:30a meeting at the Alki Beach Bathhouse. It's great for Mamas who have stroller aged kiddos. It's a seriously good workout and designed for all levels of fitness. We are launching 2 additional M/W 11a classes starting 5/31! I still bring my almost 4 year old and almost 2 year old and they love it! We sing songs, blow bubbles and try and entertain them while getting our sweat on."

The company also holds prenatal Fit4Baby classes every Tuesday through Thursday at their Studio (2707 California Ave SW). These are HIIT style workouts designed just for the pregnant mother.

On Saturday's the company offers Yoga at their Studio at 10am.

While they specialize in pre and post natal fitness, "we have non-moms workout with us too," said Tavelli, "we have some ladies who just have cats!"

FIT4MOM West Seattle is owned by Emily Williams, mother to 3 boys under 6.
