Marylin Neely

Marylin Doris Hake Neely died October 10, 2007 at her home in Seattle after a brief hospital stay. She was 82.

After her birth in Tacoma, WA, Marylin spent her childhood in Dockton, WA along with her two sisters on the family farm. After graduating from Vashon High School, she moved to Seattle where she met and married Cecil S. Neely. They moved to West Seattle where she spent the next 60 years as a homemaker. She was extremely active in her community including involvement with the Girl Scouts, PTSA, Ryther Child Center and as an active member of her church. She enjoyed extensive travel throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Marylin is survived by her daughter Faith Jenness and her son, Michael Neely. Other surviving family members include nieces and nephews Roberta Jane Coggins, Kathleen Albers, Robert Franklin Neely, Gordon Cecil Neely and Frances Sinclair. She was predeceased by her sisters Vera Soper and Marge Counterman, her husband Cecil Neely and her granddaughter Shawn Marie Jenness.

Her life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Wednesday, November 7th at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, 10404 34th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98146. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ryther Child Center, 2400 NE 95th Street Seattle, WA 98115, Susan G Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or the Alzheimer's Association225 N.
