Neighborhood Groups

Admiral District

Friday, May 09, 2008

From its brightly lit, beloved Admiral movie theater to the halls of West Seattle High School, the area is thriving with lovely homes, hip restaurants and proud longtime residents.

Admiral serves as a microcosm for West Seattle's neighborhood appeal. There's a lot of living that gets done in a few small blocks. Hiawatha Community Center and West Seattle Library are within walking distance of the high school and grocery shopping.

For nature lovers, there's green space around too. An emerald jewel drapes the peninsula as it descends toward the beaches of Alki. Schmitz Park Preserve is blanketed with 53 acres of old-growth forest and a host of interesting hiking trails.
