While its namesake arterial slices down its center, Delridge is actually a myriad of small neighborhoods. It encompasses Cottage Grove, Pigeon Point, Puget Ridge - to name a few - as well as South Seattle Community College.
Delridge, as the name implies, includes both a valley and a ridge. Through the valley flows Longfellow Creek, an urban stream lovingly being restored by neighborhood activists and environmentalists. Atop the ridge sits South Seattle Community College and its elegant developing Seattle Chinese Garden. To the south is the Westcrest Park off-leash dog area.
In the valley below, Longfellow Creek parallels Delridge Way as the creek flows northward through Camp Long and the 18-hole championship West Seattle Golf Course. All along its path, both Delridge Way and the creek are testaments to the careful community development that has marked the area's past decade.
