Roxhill Park

Friday, May 09, 2008

2850 S.W. Roxbury St.

This 13.4-acre park serves as the headwaters to Longfellow Creek, which meanders through the Delridge Valley, as well as possibly the westward-flowing Fauntleroy Creek. Although the park neighbors the growing Westwood Village shopping center, the Parks Department and Westwood Neighborhood Council volunteers have been redeveloping the site to reveal its true self as a natural wetland area. Since 2000, residents have re-established the park bog and work parties continue to improve the site throughout the year. The park also features an ADA-equipped castle-themed play area, soccer and baseball fields, restrooms and picnic tables.
