Bring your own bag

Thursday, August 28, 2008

The Seattle City Council is proposing a fee of 20 cents on every disposable bag used while shopping.

20 Cents? Oh No! I'll face foreclosure!

It just goes to show some people will kvetch about anything. I think if it were 1 cent, there would still be op-eds protesting.

I got an idea: Bring your own bag!

The whole purpose behind the proposal is to reduce the plastic in our environment, less plastic littering the streets, choking the fish and wildlife, and sitting in landfills. I'm all for that. 20 cents? Make it $20. That will guarantee less plastic in our environment.
