Daisy Mei has way too many

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

Three year old English Springer Spaniel Daisy Mei (chinese spelling) is a proud mother of nine healthy pups. Gordon Bunting and his wife Bang Jing Sun, along with their eleven year old daughter Xiu Xui (Joo Joo) stood by to make sure Daisy made it through they what they thought would be a seven pup process. They gave her chicken broth and boiled eggs and after the seventh pup Gordon took her for a little walk, thinking it would help her if she still had another pup to go. Gordon saw the X-ray of Daisy and counted eight, but the Vet saw only seven.

When they returned she had another pup and Bang named him Wei Wei, which in Chinese means "grow big and strong". Then out came number nine and he is named Surprise.

Daisy is known for her ability to fetch a rock from the bottom of a lake, and the sire "Jerry Springer" is known for climbing trees. Daisy Mei and Jerry Springer were at the Westcrest Park Off-Leash Area when their owners met and decided breeding the two was a good idea. The pups are growing fast and will soon be looking for good homes. If you are interested please e-mail Gordon at popo@sunnyarms.com .
