Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth public meeting

Washington State Ferries will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route. They are seeking the community's concerns and priorities in an effort to continue the process of improving conditions on the route by summer 2017.

West Seattle Block Watch Captains' Network meeting Oct. 25

Our special guest will be Crime Prevention Coordinator, Mark Solomon! He’ll teach us more about CPTED — Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.

Mark has worked with Block Watch groups in Seattle for many years; he’ll bring his many insights and great stories about safety and crime prevention! He will also field any questions you have about Block Watch-related issues.

Seattle Summer Parkways is set for Sunday Sept. 25 along Alki Beach.

The festivities run from 11am to 4pm, with attractions and activities galore available along a 2-mile bike- and walk-friendly route on Alki Avenue from Don Armeni to Alki Beach Park.

Stand Against Hate/Candlelight Vigil on Alki

Hate Free Delridge is calling for a "Stand Against Hate/Candlelight Vigil" on Oct 15th 2016 at 6 pm. The vigil will take place at the Alki Statue of Liberty on the corner of Alki Ave. S.W. and 61st Ave. S.W. on Alki Beach.

This is an opportunity for those who feel our local and national dynamics have drifted toward a pattern of hate as a rationalization for actions by government or citizens. Most do not feel they have a voice to reject that premise.  read more »
