Planting season is coming! Join hundreds of your neighbors on October 19th and kick off the planting season with Nature Consortium. This special service event is part of Duwamish Alive, a city-wide event to celebrate and restore the polluted Duwamish River. West Duwamish Greenbelt plays a critical role in filtering the air and water pollution created by urban runoff and industrial waste. Help us plant native trees and shrubs in the greenbelt and provide more pollution-fighting power!

Clark and Sally Bagshaw have been holding informal coffee talks with people in various parts of Seattle and Saturday, Sept. 28 they come to West Seattle to hear concerns, offer their insights, and just talk one on one with people. the Coffee with the Sallys will be at High Point Public Library in West Seattle Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28, 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

West Seattle Green Space Coalition Meeting Sept. 28

The West Seattle Green Space Coalition will hold their first meeting Saturday, September 28, "gathering neighborhood councils, environmental groups, and citizens with a mission of (1) stopping the sale of the green spaces for development and (2) working to secure funding for future green space/park/public uses of the properties."

The meeting will be held at High Point Library, 3411 SW Raymond St. from 4:30 to 5:45. It is meant to be a preparation for the upcoming Public Hearing at the High Point Community Center, 6:30-8:30, October 2.  read more »

Following discussions over several months, a multitude of West Seattle groups have made the decision to attempt to form a West Seattle Transit Coalition. There are at least three factors currently working in tandem to significantly worry a lot of people in West Seattle, that we have been talking about on and off for months in our meetings.  read more »
