West Seattle Summerfest July 13-15

West Seattle Summerfest
The 30th year of celebrating West Seattle in the summer as Summerfest kicks off July 13 and runs through Sunday, July 15.

This year the event will feature more than 150 craft and import vendors, the Art Dive where dozens of local artists will be showcased in one tent, lots of "fest food" from street vendors and the well known Junction watering holes many with sidewalk cafes in place for the event.

American Legion Grand Parade July 21 in West Seattle

The American Legion Grand Parade (saved by the generous support of a number of donors) is back again this year featuring more than 80 entries including drill teams, marching bands, floats, clowns, Seafair Pirates, politicians, kids,
It gets underway at 11:00 in the Admiral District starting near the intersection of Lander-Edmunds Streets and proceeds south to the West Seattle Junction

Pick your spot on the parade route early to get the best view as up to 20,000 people can crowd along the street.

Seafair Pirates Landing July 7

The salty Seafair Pirates make their annual landing at Alki on July 7 with Moby Duck (their land assault vehicle) on hand on shore. Pirate gear will be the appropriate attire as they arrive approximately at 12 noon the currents, tides and the Pirates themselves all being variables.

The landing happens on the Alki Beach Promenade near the Alki Bathhouse.

Expect a big crowd and arrive early (events surrounding the landing get underway at 9:30 am) to get the best spot to see them come ashore.

This is a Seafair Sanctioned event.

Admiral Neighborhood Children's Parade July 4

Kids, parents, fire engines, and more will fill the street for the annual Admiral Neighborhood Parade on the 4th. Everyone gathers near the intersection of 44th Ave. s.w. and Sunset Ave. s.w. before the 10:00 am starting time to track the parade route over to the Hamilton Viewpoint for a post parade celebration.  read more »

Hiawatha Kids Fun Fest
Saturday, July 20
12 p.m.-3 p.m. Hours of fun featuring carnival games, refreshments, dunk tank, children’s entertainment, face painting & more. Entertainment starts at 11:15 a.m. and carnival games start at noon., Hi-Yu Junior Court, Seattle Fire Depart and a magician. There will be hot dogs, pop, juice, water, chips, and Sno-Kones available for purchase.
