36th District Legislative Action Day in Olympia

Come to Olympia on Presidents’ Day, Monday, Feb. 16, to meet with Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles and Reps. Reuven Carlyle and Gael Tarleton for the annual 36th District Legislative Action Day. The day begins at 10 a.m. with hot drinks and snacks and a preview of the day’s activities in room 211 of the John Cherberg building. Throughout the day, constituents will be able to use the room as a home base and meet for a brown bag lunch to share their priorities with legislators who will be present.  read more »

Seal Sitters training March 22nd

Seal Sitters Marine Mammal Stranding Network will hold a new volunteer training on Sunday, March 22nd, from 1:30-3:30pm.

The training will be held at the Alki Bathhouse located at 2701 Alki Avenue SW, West Seattle (between 59th Ave SW and 60th Ave SW).
Please plan to arrive early to register and receive paperwork - the doors open at 1pm and training begins promptly at 1:30.  read more »

All Walk Encouragement Rally

As a part of our awareness of climate change outreach we are going to join West Seattle Neighbors for Peace and Justice and encourage our neighbors to take action on climate change during the all walk interval in the Junction intersection. This will repeat the first Sundays of the month from noon to 1pm. I will send future updates to you.

will take place 
Saturday, January 24, at Highline Community College.

Des Moines -- Access, Equity, & Excellence, a free summit for parents and community members hosted by the League of Education Voters (LEV) Foundation, will take place Saturday, January 24, from 9 a.m.–4p.m., at Highline Community College. Lunch and free childcare are provided.

More than two hundred parents and community members are expected to attend. Sili Savusa, with the White Center Community Development Association, is the keynote speaker.  read more »
