Seattle Green Spaces Coalition meeting Feb. 12

Seattle Green Spaces Coalition meeting on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Southwest Library at 35th SW and SW Henderson Street.

Seattle Greenspaces is inviting the NERDS, JuNO and greater west Seattle community to brainstorm on preservation of the Avalon substation properties according to our neighborhood's wishes and as a welcoming entrance to West Seattle.

Seattle City Light's Lynn Best confirmed City Light does not have plans to sell the property, but we believe a plan must have a contingency plan developed to counter any future possibility of the sale of this land.

Native Plants in the Duwamish River Ecosystem Feb. 18

Free fun day exploring the relationship between Duwamish culture and native habitat restoration in the Duwamish River ecosystem. Talks, demo, food and useful tips. Stay all day or drop-in.

Morgan Junction Urban Village Community Design Workshop

The Morgan Junction Urban Village Community Design Workshop has been rescheduled for Monday, March 6th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Hall at Fauntleroy, 9131 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98136. Please bring a neighbor or a friend to join the conversation. RSVP is not required to participate in the workshop but does give priority for facilitated working groups as well as assist our team in planning for staffing, room set up, and resources.  read more »

The West Seattle Food Bank has made some significant changes to better serve those that rely on our services.

Please join the board of directors and staff to learn about our new “shopping style” distribution, our many needed programs, and how we collaborate to serve our West Seattle neighbors in need.
