Mediterranean Fantasy Fest

The Mediterranean Fantasy Fest is on at the Hiawatha Community Center 2700 California Ave. SW.

The event will feature Belly Dancers (and classes), sword balancing, fire dancers, music and food.

West Seattle Grand Parade

The tradition continues as the West Seattle Grand Parade, sponsored for the first time by the West Seattle Rotary Club takes place on Saturday July 19.

The motorcycle drill teams begin the show at 10:30am and will lead the full parade which starts at 11am at California and Lander. The Kiddie Parade, also starts then just farther south at California and Genesee Street SW.

Float Dodger 5k

The annual Float Dodger 5k gets underway at 9:30am beginning at Calfornia Ave. and Charlestown Street before the West Seattle Grand Parade.

TAI SHAN PERFORMS 'LIVING FICTION' OUTDOORS JULY 17 AT THE WEST SEATTLE BRANCH LIBRARY

Local musician Tai Shan will play new songs from “Living Fiction” with her band from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at The Seattle Public Library, West Seattle Branch, 2306 42nd Ave. S.W, on the front lawn.
Library programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Free parking is available near the West Seattle Branch.
"Living Fiction" was released May 18, 2014. Music on the album is inspired by Shan’s favorite books.  read more »

he Alki Art Fair, now in its 17th year will fill the Promenade on Alki Beach July 19-20 offering visual arts, crafts, food and music. Artist booths are open from 10 am - 6 pm with music all day until 9 pm. On July 20, artist booths are open 10 am - 6 pm with music until 8 pm. This event is free to the public.

This year’s Fair will feature:

We have an awesome roster of artists for 2014 including painters and photographers, jewelry and textile artists, sculptors, potters and more.

With three stages of musical acts performing all weekend, concessions and a silent auction, it makes for a lovely weekend event to enjoy with the whole family. The Alki Art Fair is not only a blast for adults but we’ve got art activities for the kiddos too!
