Benifit for Old Dog Haven at West Seattle Yoga/Doga

While you are walking around the West Seattle Art Walk drop into Westside Yoga and Doga for hula dancers, beer and wine, and a raffle of prizes from local vendors. The proceeds go to Old Dog Haven, which provides hospice, assisted living and adoptions for older homeless dogs.

Clean Up Corporate Corruption Rally

More than 150 members of Congress and candidates have signed the Fight Washington Corruption pledge to stop the corporate influence in government. Move On is organizing this rally to give wavering politicians one last chance to stand with big corporations or stand with the rest of us without corporate lobbyists.

Landmark Tree Walk

Come join your neighbors for a walking tour of some of the special trees that grace Crown Hill’s private yards and public spaces. You’ll see the remnants of an old orchard sprawled across what are now multiple single family lots, trees that rank among Seattle's largest for their species, including some that are not recorded anywhere else in the city, and many other “significant” neighborhood trees. 14th Ave. Adopt-A-Street Cleanup

This is one of the twice yearly clean up events on 14th Ave NW. The ebca will be picking up trash and taking care of the planters in the medians. Cass Turnbull from PlantAmnesty will also be conducting her hands-on clinic for weeding and pruning.

Cass Turnbull on Weeding and Pruning

Cass Turnbull of PlantAmnesty fame will be providing a clinic on weeding and pruning. This presentation will be open to the public and will be a perfect event for those of all levels of gardening experience. Those who want to participate in the Planter Stewardship program to maintain the planters on 14th Ave NW are encouraged to attend. The clinic will be followed by a hands on clinic in the East Ballard neighborhood the morning of the Oct. 16 in conjunction with 14th Ave NW Adopt A Street Cleanup. Location TBD.
