January 22, 1942, the newly renovated Admiral Theater located in West Seattle debuted, boasting unique filmic innovations and an incredible art deco, nautical appearance, unlike anything Seattle had ever seen.
Built by the same architect that created the Hollywood Pantages, the theater showcased unique murals and etched seahorse glass chandeliers. The theater cost over $200,000 and charged outrageous admissions; adults 35 cents and children, a whopping 11 cents. read more »
