The Breeze of Mevlevi in Concert

Following 10 days of retreat and preparation, the Mevlevi Order of America, directed by Postue shin Jelaleddin Loras, presents "The Breeze of Mevlevi," a one-night concert of sacred music, poetry and dance of the Whirling Dervishes of TUrkey. Featuring Timucin Cevikogul, direct from Turkey, the evening will be a rare opportunity to experience classical dervish music and inspirational dance in the tradition of the beloved mystic sufi poet Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi.

Wake the Dead in Concert

The world's first Celtic all-star Grateful Dead jam band. Join some of the best acoustic musicians on the West Coast as Wake the Dead performs their unique and compelling version of the music of the Grateful Dead and the Summer of Love as seen through Celtic folk music. Wake the Dead is a romp that flows seamlessly from rock grooves to hot Irish reels, and from haunting airs to achingly beautiful melodies familiar to Deadheads everywhere.

Sparkling Choir of Love & Total Experience Gospel Choir Haiti Relief Concert

The Sparkling Choir of Love along with special guest Rev. Pat Wright and the Total Experience Gospel Choir join forces in a concert to benefit much needed Haiti relief efforts. This will be a very special evening of gospel, spirituals and sacred folk music guaranteed to raise your spirits and stir your soul. There is no admission fee, but monetary donations for Haiti relief efforts will be gratefully accepted.

For Adams We Rock

Adams Elementary School will be having a concert for kids this Friday. Board of Education and Recess Monkey will perform. It is only $5 a person and there will be drinks and snacks available to purchase. All proceeds will go toward the Islandwood Fund, which is money made by the fourth-grade students at Adams to help pay for the annual fifth-grade camping trip to Islandwood the following year. The fundraiser will also have a great raffle for only $1 a ticket. Cash only

The Royal Nordic Singers

Tickets: $25 for members and $30 for non-members

The Royal Nordic Singers' program comprises classical music from the world of Opera, Operetta, Broadway musicals and Danish, Swedish and Icelandic folk songs. They have been touring since 1997 and have traveled all over the world playing in U.S. cities as well as Dubai in the Middle East, Peking in China and all over Europe. Refreshments will be served before the concert- come when the doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tully's Folklife Preview

On May 15, Tully’s Coffee will host a free preview concert for Memorial Day weekend’s Northwest Folklife Festival. Much smaller than the Folklife Festival itself, these coffee shop preview shows are designed to reflect the small, low-key areas of the festival where you can discover your new favorite musician. Mark Ward, a versatile musician who plays the guitar and kick drum, and singer/songwriter Tamara Power-Drutis will perform.

High School Rock Night

Taco dinner at 6 p.m. Music starts at 8 p.m. There will be seven bands mostly composed of students, family and staff from Salmon Bay School. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a fundraiser for Salmon Bay School to support school activities.
