The Royal Nordic Singers

Tickets: $25 for members and $30 for non-members

The Royal Nordic Singers' program comprises classical music from the world of Opera, Operetta, Broadway musicals and Danish, Swedish and Icelandic folk songs. They have been touring since 1997 and have traveled all over the world playing in U.S. cities as well as Dubai in the Middle East, Peking in China and all over Europe. Refreshments will be served before the concert- come when the doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tully's Folklife Preview

On May 15, Tully’s Coffee will host a free preview concert for Memorial Day weekend’s Northwest Folklife Festival. Much smaller than the Folklife Festival itself, these coffee shop preview shows are designed to reflect the small, low-key areas of the festival where you can discover your new favorite musician. Mark Ward, a versatile musician who plays the guitar and kick drum, and singer/songwriter Tamara Power-Drutis will perform.

High School Rock Night

Taco dinner at 6 p.m. Music starts at 8 p.m. There will be seven bands mostly composed of students, family and staff from Salmon Bay School. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a fundraiser for Salmon Bay School to support school activities.

Easter-Themed Organ Concert

Richard Lind will be perform an Easter-themed organ concert with selected works by Tournemire, Wider, Dandrieu, Bach and Vierne. Lind, music director and organist, has been at Northminster since 2003. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in organ performance as a student of Clyde Holloway. He has been an active recitalist, both as soloist and accompanist and is also on the music staff at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bellevue.

BHS Music Alumni Concert

The third bi-annual Ballard High School Music Alumni Concert is always an exciting event and an evening to remember, as current BHS music students perform side by side with BHS musicians from the past six decades to raise funds to support the music program at Ballard High School. The Ballard High School Foundation started this event in 2006, raising more than $15,000. In 2008, the bar was raised a few thousand more.
