Catsino charity gambling event -Beveridge Place Pub 2pm

Catsino, the benefit event for Furry Faces Foundation is back on Sunday, April 29 offering a range of games of chance all to benefit the work done by Furry Faces Foundation, A.A.R.F., Purrfect Pal and Regional Animal Services of King County.

The event gets underway at 2 pm at the Beveridge Place Pub 6413 California Avenue Southwest.

Games like Texas Snip ‘em, Pig Craps, BlackCat 21 and K9 Blackjack will all be featured at sponsor tables.

Owling Lincoln Park with Stewart

Due to popular demand I am scheduling my next owling adventure at Lincoln Park. We will start before sunset in hopes to get a peek at the resident Barred Owls with some daylight, and go into the night, looking and listening in hopes of some owl action in their prime activity time. While the owls can be finicky, and are never guaranteed, the wildflowers are just getting started and we will see and learn about a few of them by flashlight, and may examine any other plant, animal or fungus that piques anyone’s curiosity.  read more »

The first meeting about Greenways in West Seattle is taking place Sunday, February 19, at Pearl's Coffee 4800 Delridge Way s.w. at 3 pm

Neighborhood greenways are routes which provide safe connections for bicyclists and pedestrians between neighborhoods, and to schools, parks, shopping and other destinations. Colman Pool opening June 30

Colman will open late in 2012 due to a major construction project that has some summer work required to complete. The capital project will begin in winter and run until June 29. The pool will open to the public on Saturday, June 30 which is 5 weeks later than usual. The pool traditionally opens on Memorial Day weekend.

This capital project is a major investment in the future of Colman Pool… after 70 years the deck will be replaced and the entire gutter system redesigned. In addition, an underwater leak will be repaired and new plaster liner installed.
