Spring Tweak

Visit Bike Sport to help raise scholarship money to allow youth in the Seattle area to attend cycling camps at Bike Works (www.bikeworks.org). Donations will be accepted to perform basic bike maintenance, including cleaning, adjusting breaks and changing flats, to get your bike ready for the summer.

Bicycle Life: Spokespeople: Electric Bicycles

What would make you want to ride a bicycle for transportation? What do you think keeps you from riding a bicycle for transportation? Why do you prefer riding a bicycle for transportation?

These are all questions being posed at the next Sustainable West Seattle Community Forum. The May community forum will be held Monday May 17th at the site of the West Seattle Tool Library at 7 P.M. Father's Day Car Show

More than 200 cars are on display for this event which takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 152nd between 4th SW and 8th SW and on 6th SW between 152nd and 153rd (all of which are closed off for the day).

Car clubs from around the Puget Sound area are invited to display their vehicles, as are Burien's new car dealers (who also help sponsor the event).
The Strawberry Festival will be running June 19 & 20 in same area.

West Seattle Spokespeople Bikeride

Cathy Tuttle, founder of Spokespeople Wallingford, will lead this ride with Stu Hennessey of Alki Bike and Board. The ride length is 6 miles using an alternative route selection riding the California Ave. business corridor to West Seattle's Morgan Junction with a stop at the West Seattle Farmers Market.

The pace will be easy/leisure between 8-12 mph and the terrain will be "some hills." This is a stay together ride with the ride leader, middle pack, and back of the pack, sweep support. Heavy rain will cancel. Be prepared to do some shopping at the Farmers Market.  read more »
