Technology Access Foundation (TAF) will kick off its 20th anniversary celebration with a free barbecue for it’s long­time supporters and the surrounding White Center community. For almost 20 years, TAF has provided technical and STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) education to students of color. It’s mission is to improve the trajectory of students of color in life and in college, and ultimately introduce more diversity to STEM and tech fields.  read more »

We’ll be weeding, cleaning up around the street trees, and spreading mulch. Come prepared wearing closed toe shoes and long pants. We’ll provide tools, gloves and instruction. No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without some Turkey!

To help spread some holiday cheer to local families in need, the West Seattle Food Bank needs your help.

Home street Bank in West Seattle welcomes Santa!

HomeStreet Bank in West Seattle is celebrating their 2nd anniversary. Come celebrate and enjoy holiday treats, professional photos with Santa, a hot cocoa bar, warm apple cider and more!

Photos are complimentary with a suggested donation of canned or non-perishable food items for the West Seattle Food Bank (cash/check donations will also be accepted). 3 - 6pm at HomeStreet Bank, 4022 SW Alaska Street.
The founding members of "Pickled Okra", nominee for Best of Western Washington’s (Wedding Band), will also be playing Christmas tunes with a Bluegrass twist from 5-6pm!


A Fall celebration in the West Seattle Junction from 10a.m. to 2 p.m. California Avenue SW will be closed between SW Edmonds and SW Oregon Streets from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 500 people are expected to attend.

West Seattle Rotary Oktoberfest

This Saturday, October 24, 2015, is the West Seattle Rotary Oktoberfest (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) at Alki Masonic Hall, 4736 40th Ave SW. Free parking, German & local micro brew BEER, authentic German FOOD, an Oompah BAND, and a RAFFLE.
Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at (must be age 21 or older). Net proceeds support the Club's charitable projects.
