'The Green Sheep' Drama Story

Secret Garden Bookshop is proud to announce its brand-new partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre for the 2010-2011 Season. During the run of each show of the season, we will be hosting weekend Drama Story events with artists from Seattle Children’s Theatre. The first one is "The Green Sheep." The Admiral Theater presents the first film ever played here: Weekend in Havana

January 22, 1942, the newly renovated Admiral Theater located in West Seattle debuted, boasting unique filmic innovations and an incredible art deco, nautical appearance, unlike anything Seattle had ever seen.

Built by the same architect that created the Hollywood Pantages, the theater showcased unique murals and etched seahorse glass chandeliers. The theater cost over $200,000 and charged outrageous admissions; adults 35 cents and children, a whopping 11 cents.  read more »

Preview performance of "Falstaff"

The West Seattle Preview Group of the Seattle Opera Guild presents a preview of the coming production of Verdi’s “Falstaff” Saturday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kenney Home, 7125 Fauntleroy Way SW.
