Value Village wants you, your family, kids and friends to join them at Alki Beach for an installation that encourages everyone to take action to prevent landfills from becoming laundry piles.

What: An interactive installation using thousands of pieces of used clothing to represent the amount of clothing that ends up in the landfill, instead of being reused or recycled.

When: Friday, April 22
8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Showing through the end of January. Jan Rogers has studied classical drawing and painting at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle since 2007. She continues to pursue studies in landscape, still life and the figure in oil, pastel, and watercolor. Community Center hours: Mon.-Thurs., 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; Fri., 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m.-Noon. Hours may change during the holidays.

he Alki Art Fair, now in its 17th year will fill the Promenade on Alki Beach July 19-20 offering visual arts, crafts, food and music. Artist booths are open from 10 am - 6 pm with music all day until 9 pm. On July 20, artist booths are open 10 am - 6 pm with music until 8 pm. This event is free to the public.
