Glassware 101: matching the glass to the grape

glassware 101: matching the glass to the grape

Friday, November 12th, 2010 from 7:30-9 pm

At Bin 41

For 11 generations, Riedel has been regarded as the best in the art of glassmaking. We’ve all asked the question: ‘does the shape of the glass really make that much difference?’ Please join us for a structured glass comparison tasting with one of Riedel’s top educators for an ‘ah ha’ moment where you’ll discover how the shape of the glass changes how you experience a particular wine. This will be a classroom style event where participants will get to experience wine from four different varietally specific glasses; Sauvignon Blanc, full-bodied Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet.

Please note, we will be hosting this class at the Wine Technology building at South Seattle Community College. This class will be open to (40) participants. With the larger class size, we were able to get an educator from Riedel as well as a better rate. Participants will leave the class with a great educational experience, but more importantly with a set of (4) Vinum Riedel glasses. This glass set normally retails at around $125...so we are stoked to offer you the class at much less than the cost of the glassware alone!

Cost is $85 per person ($75 for club members)
