Mt. View Elementary Carnival June 2

Fundraiser supports dual language immersion program

The public is invited to attend the Mount View Elementary Carnival, benefiting its dual language immersion program and its sister school in Honduras.

Money raised at the carnival will go to Light of Esperanza, a non-profit that is renovating the village school in Vega Redonda, Honduras, Mount View’s sister school.

A portion of the proceeds will also help purchase Spanish language books for the school’s library.

“The school’s library has a wide array of books in English, but the available resources in Spanish are extremely limited,” said Literacy Interventionist Shoshanna Cohen. “The carnival will allow both native Spanish speakers and those students learning Spanish to have access to a large selection of books in Spanish that will encourage learning.”
