Open House: North Delridge Neighborhood Greenway

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is holding a public meeting to discuss the potential installation of a neighborhood greenway in the North Delridge neighborhood:

Date: Wednesday, November 14

Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Presentation starts at 6:45 p.m.

Location: Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, 4408 Delridge Way SW

Seattle is creating a network of streets that are more family-friendly for people biking or walking. These streets, called “Neighborhood Greenways,” are residential streets with low volumes of auto traffic and low speeds where people bicycling or walking are given priority.

In response to community requests for a greenway in North Delridge, SDOT is holding a meeting to provide an overview of neighborhood greenways, to review existing traffic conditions, and to hear from the public. Community members are invited to join the meeting and share their thoughts and experiences:

· What is it like to walk and bike in North Delridge?
· Where is it the most challenging to walk or bike?
· Where do people want to walk and bike?
· What should be the goals of a Delridge Neighborhood Greenway?

SDOT will use the information gathered in this meeting to develop a design proposal, and will hold another public meeting in January 2013 to share these proposals with the community.
