The hit TV show "Dancing with the Stars" may satisfy spectators parked in their reclining chairs, but some West Seattle residents are waltzing onto the dance floor and learning to cha cha with their own happy feet. Ballroom and Latin dance instructor Loretta Turin is making that happen for area teens, seniors, and those in between.

Arbor Heights Elementary Sale celebrates it's fourth year
The Arbor Heights Elementary School plant sale and rummage sale merged this year for the first time. The four year old, annual event is a PTSA fundraiser, whose proceeds go to benefit the music and art programs at the school. Cori Roed, PTSA President and in charge of the plant sale said "The sale raised more than $5000 last year."

White Center is experiencing something of a local renaissance and it's been underway for nearly two years now. The White Center Arts Alliance http://whitecenterarts.com/ and Cafe Rozella are the inspiration for the latest flowering of this new growth and its happening in an unlikely place. White Center Glass and Upholstery at 9443 Delridge Way SW. A new art space and bistro called All About Art is taking shape in a space the owners originally planned on using for their glass business. A large scale mural is now being painted on the entire back or west face of the building on 17th Street. Owner Fern Falaschi explained that the space will be a combination performance/art/bistro & events center and will seat about 30 people.
