Recycling Waste Food

How come you guys send your food waste to a composter? here in the UK we have anaerobic digesters. They can create not only fertiliser but clean electricity as well. 5,000 tonnes of food waste processed through anaerobic digestion can generate enough electricity for around 400 homes for a year! Can't be bad!
