Walter Maenhout of C & P Coffee Company, 5612 California Avenue SW, and Leopoldo Seguel, West Seattle resident for 15 years, have collaborated on Poetrybridge, which includes monthly readings featuring both poets and open mic. The next event is Wednesday, March 24, 7pm-9pm.

C&P Coffee's "Poetry Bridge" returns

Poetry and storytelling comes monthly to C&P Coffee Company, 5612 California Avenue SW, thanks to Poetrybridge, and its creators Walter Maenhout and Leopoldo Seguel. The monthly event will arrive at C&P Wednesday, March 24, 7pm-9pm.

Maenhout works at the coffee shop and is also a sound recording engineer. Both will read, and there is an open mic. More ›

Burien welcomes the southern portion of North Highline into the city on April 1

No fooling; Southern portion of North Highline joins Burien April 1

The city of Burien officially annexes the southern portion of North Highline on Thursday, April 1.
Burien will jump up ten spots from the 31st largest city in the state to 21st, passing the state capitol of Olympia. The city will add about 14,500 people to its 31,000 current residents.

Voters in North Highline's southern part approved the annexation last August by a 55 percent to 45 percent margin. More ›
