Marguerite Chase Parlato
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever."
Marguerite died peacefully Dec. 17th. Born Aug. 7, 1915 to
Jeanette and Maynard Chase, she lived her long life in
Alki, where she met her husband, taught school and raised
her family. In retirement she traveled the world, painted,
opened her home to countless foreign students, volunteered
for the Parks Dept. and delighted in her grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her adventurous and loving
spirit and how she beheld all with wonder and imagination,
inspiring everyone who knew her.
Survived by daughter and son-in-law Mary and Scott
Gunderson, grandchildren Christina, Anna, and Scott Jr.,
siblings Mary Jane Hardgrove, Priscilla Baker, and Jack
Chase. Proceeded in death by her beloved son Jonathan,
husband Basil and brother Stephen Chase.
