What: Ballard Jazz Band I joins with the other hottest Seattle-area high school bands to display their chops for one amazing, jazz-filled evening.

Price: $20. All proceeds from ticket sales at the Ballard Starbucks (22nd& Market) will benefit BHS Performing Arts Programs. Also, BHS Performing Arts will receive 20% of other ticket sales.

What: “Twenty Fingers Speak – A Powerful Partnership," Inger-Kristine Riber from Norway, Erika Lux from German, Making their U.S. debut

Norwegian-born pianist Inger-Kristine Riber, graduate of the Norwegian Music Academy and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover, is joined by Hungarian-born pianist Erika Lux, a graduate of the Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest and prize winner in the Worldwide Piano Competition in Tokyo for this unusual one piano–four hands program, which includes pieces by Norwegian masters Grieg, Backer-Grøndahl, David Monrad Johansen, and Alf Hurum along with rarely heard works of Liszt and Wagner!

Price: Single ticket prices are $45 for Museum Members, $50 for non-Members (including smörgåsbord) and concert-only tickets are $20 for Members, $25 for non-Members. Season tickets for all five concerts (including smörgåsbord) are $195 for Members and $215 for non-Members.

What: “Drums and Dreams from the North,” The Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet, Matt Kocmieroski, Gunnar Fulsom, Rob Tucker, Paul Hansen

Fantastic percussion sounds from this popular, award-winning ensemble featured in the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterworks project are ever-popular in festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. The quartet presents a program of Danish sizzlers: Andy Pape and Peter Bruun, Finnish iconoclast Kaija Saariaho, and Morton Feldman’s “The King of Denmark.”

What: “Birch Bark and Bothnian Breezes,” The PKH Trio, from Finland -- Multitalented musicians from Umeå and Luleå in Northern Sweden, Pia Karin Helsing (soprano, cello, violin), Görel Särs (accordion, piano, guitar), and Cay Nyqvist (clarinet, percussion, composer) present a program rooted in old music traditions of Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia, Finland, with a magical blend of classical masterworks.

What: Icelandic-born violinist, Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir, Grand Prize winner of the 2006 J. S. Bach Competition in Leipzig, European Council’s Pro Europa incentive award and concertmaster of Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, is joined by Seattle pianist Deborah Dewey, a graduate of Yale, Wellesley, and winner of the KMS Resident Artist Competition. Enjoy a program of Icelandic composers with a German twist and a touch of Baroque — Haflioi Hallgrimsson, Árni Björnsson, Schubert and Bach.
